The twenty sacred powers of the Medicine Wheel are the gateways of perception that make the experience of Oneness possible for all humans. Some gateways are visible and some are invisible… both will show us complete reality when they are opened. The Medicine Wheel is Humankind – it is our tool for measuring the infinite. It is our blueprint for balancing spirit and matter in our lives and for understanding the wisdom of our Divine natures. The focal point is the development of our consciousness from the sacred five to the sacred twenty. When we are fully conscious and empowered as human beings (the sacred five), then we can understand our RELATIONSHIP to each of the powers.

Our Spiritual Journey is a never-ending spiral of consciousness and expansion - our perceptions can shift and change as we grow and mature in our spiritual selves. Drumming the 20 count around the wheel of life is much more than learning to drum from 1 - 20: once you begin to grasp the subtle magical principles and the spiritual alchemy of changing consciousness at will, you begin to realize your own unique soul potential. Using the 20 count makes it possible to communicate with this divine awareness.

THE STORY OF CREATION

WAKAN - THE SACRED ZERO - GREAT MYSTERY Creation Wheel

In the beginning was Great Mystery, the Original Sacred Mother from which everything is born. She is WAKHAN, the Sacred Zero, the circle, the 'all'. She is the Receptive/Creative principle, the Great Dream.

SSKWAN - THE SACRED SPIRAL - GREAT SPIRIT

Time, space, matter and energy whirl out of Her in a super hot wild burst. This burst of light is called SSKWAN, our Original Sacred Grandfather. SSKWAN is a spiral, the Active/Conceptive principle, the Spark of Creation.

WAKAN and SSKWAN provides everything that is needed for us to be here today. This Divine Union is known as GREAT SPIRIT or WAKAN TANKA. GREAT SPIRIT is represented by both the Sacred Zero and the Sacred 20.

THE TRUE PEACE

The first peace, which is the most important,
Is that which comes within the souls of people
When they realize their relationship,
Their oneness, with the universe and all its powers,
And when they realize that at the centre
Of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka (the Great Spirit),
And that this centre is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this.
The second peace is that which is made between two individuals,
And the third is that which is made between two nations.
But above all you should understand that there can never
Be peace between nations until there is known that true peace,
Which, as I have often said, is within the souls of people.

DRUM SPIRIT MEDICINE JOURNEY

To fully experience the energy of the first five rhythms of the 20 Count Medicine Wheel, practice your drumming with Drum Spirit Medicine Journey. This is the first of four albums illustrating the 20 count with rhythms and simple chants. This first album works with the four cardinal directions and the centre soul energy. These five rhythms are key to understanding the whole 20 count drumming system.

WEEKLY DRUMMING CIRCLE IN GLASTONBURY

Come and join our group, 'DRUM SPIRIT SHAMANIC DRUMMING CIRCLE' on Wednesday evenings, 7.30-9pm in The Miracles Room at the Glastonbury Experience Courtyard. We practice drumming and chanting around the rhythms of the 20 count.
